- Coverage is for a child under 18, or 18 or older and still in high school, who was diagnosed with a developmental disability at age 8 or younger.
- Plans may cap these services at $36,000 a year and $200,000 lifetime; the annual cap is adjusted each January 1 using the medical part of the Consumer Price Index.
- Treatment must be prescribed by the child’s treating physician under a signed treatment plan that lists goals, frequency, and how often the plan is updated.
