Mastering the IEP Process

An Individualized Education Program (IEP) is your child's legal right under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Taking an IEP readiness quiz is the first step toward effective advocacy, ensuring you have the evidence needed for a successful meeting.

What the Quiz Evaluates

  • 01
Legal Eligibility: Do you have the required clinical diagnosis?
  • 02
Documentation: Is your evidence of educational impact complete?
  • 03
Rights Knowledge: Do you understand FAPE and LRE requirements?

IEP vs. 504 Plan

While a 504 Plan provides accommodations, an IEP offers specialized instruction. This assessment helps you determine which path is most likely for your child's current level of need.

How long does the process take?

From the moment you request a "Full and Individual Evaluation" (FIE) in writing, schools typically have 60 days to complete evaluations and another 30 days to hold an eligibility meeting.
