Editorial Policy

Our commitment to accuracy, transparency, and serving families of children with special needs.

Our Editorial Mission

At Special Needs Care Network, we are committed to accurate, helpful, and compassionate content for families raising kids with disabilities and learning differences. Our content is guided by our founding team's decades of experience in education and special needs advocacy. Our founder, Eric Sampson, M.Ed, is a licensed teacher, principal, and PK-12 special education supervisor.

How We Create Content

Our articles, guides, and resources are:

  • Researched using authoritative sources including federal and state education agencies, peer-reviewed research, and established special education organizations
  • Written and reviewed by our editorial team, which includes professionals with backgrounds in special education
  • Enhanced with AI-assisted research tools to ensure comprehensive coverage, with all AI-generated content reviewed and verified by our team
  • Updated regularly to reflect changes in laws, best practices, and available resources

How We Vet Directory Listings

Our directory includes schools, therapy centers, and other providers serving children with special needs. Our listing process includes:

  • Collecting information from publicly available sources, provider submissions, and community recommendations
  • Verifying basic information such as location, contact details, and services offered
  • Reviewing community feedback and user reviews (all reviews are moderated before publication)
  • Providers can claim and manage their own listings to keep information current

Important: Inclusion in our directory does not constitute an endorsement. Families should always independently verify a provider's credentials, licensing, and suitability. See our Disclaimer for full details.

Sponsored and Paid Content

Transparency is central to our editorial standards:

  • Some providers participate as paid partners and may receive enhanced visibility or priority placement
  • Paid partnerships never influence the content of our articles, guides, or editorial recommendations
  • We clearly distinguish between editorial content and sponsored placements
  • For full details, see our Partner Disclosure page

Corrections and Updates

We take accuracy seriously. If you find information that is incorrect, outdated, or misleading:

Editorial Independence

Our editorial content is independent from our business relationships. Paid partnerships and advertising do not influence the substance of our articles, reviews, or resource guides. Our priority is always serving families with trustworthy, actionable information.
