Students earn a seat at the Jacqueline M. Walsh School for the Performing and Visual Arts by audition. We are a public arts high school in the Pawtucket School Department, and every student chooses a major in dance, music, theatre, video and film, or visual art. Auditions mirror the work students do here. Visual art applicants draw a still life on site and bring a portfolio of original work, dance applicants learn a dance phrase and take a group class, and musicians perform and complete a music theory assessment and pitch matching. Theatre applicants prepare two memorized monologues, and video and film applicants submit a short narrative video.

The Professional Adult Development Institute (PADI) is dedicated to empowering adult learners through comprehensive professional development training and educational support. Established in 2014, PADI serves a diverse population, including individuals transitioning to college, low-income earners, English language learners, adults with learning and developmental disabilities, unemployed adults, immigrants, and veterans. The institute focuses on enhancing essential skills in areas such as college writing, basic English, science, and math while fostering personal growth and career advancement. PADI's approach combines tailored tutoring with ongoing training programs designed to meet the unique needs of each participant.
