Smart Start Preschool Enrichment is the inclusive preschool of The Arc of Union County, a nonprofit founded in 1949 by parents of children with disabilities. Children ages 2 to 5 learn together in a program capped at 15 children with a 4:1 ratio. Our staff are Registered Behavior Technicians, and an agency BCBA is on site. We teach with The Creative Curriculum, a state-approved, research-based curriculum, and focus on cognitive development, speech and language, social skills, and fine and gross motor skills. Classroom routines include circle time, story time, art, music, movement and age-appropriate technology. Enrollment is open year-round. Families choose a full day from 9:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., mornings from 9:00 to 11:30, or afternoons from 12:15 to 2:45, Monday through Friday. In July and August, Little Tykes Camp runs at The Arc Family Center in Mountainside, and The Arc's Early Intervention Program serves children from birth to age 3.
