AHCCCS publishes autism-spectrum-disorder resources for members. Ask the member’s contracted health plan about its assessment, prior-authorization, network, and provider-credential requirements for the service requested.

Arizona’s Steven’s Law is a state insurance rule, not a promise that every commercial plan follows the same benefit design. Check the policy’s autism-treatment terms and any age, provider, or authorization limits. Self-funded employer plans are generally regulated under federal ERISA rather than state insurance mandates. Ask the plan administrator for the written benefit, authorization, and appeal rules.

Arizona Division of Developmental Disabilities administers long-term supports separately from AHCCCS acute-care coverage. Eligibility and service planning are handled through that program.
