Burbank Early Childhood School

Families anywhere in Ohio can enroll children in kindergarten through grade 12 at Great River Connections Academy, an online public school that charges families nothing for tuition. Our lessons mix live sessions led by state-certified teachers with self-guided work, and a parent or caregiver serves as each child's Learning Coach. Elementary students do about 70 percent of their schoolwork offline, while high schoolers work mostly on the computer. Students with IEPs receive special education services that include consultation, curriculum accommodation and modification, direct instruction, and collaboration between Learning Coaches and teachers, plus related services set by the IEP team. Advanced learners can take gifted and talented, honors and Advanced Placement courses, and high schoolers can earn dual credit through Ohio's College Credit Plus. An alternative program supports at-risk students facing serious barriers to school success. Students connect through clubs including Connections eSports, field trips around Ohio, National Honor Society and an in-person graduation ceremony, and may join local district athletics where offered. Families pay for school supplies and optional field trips.

At Imagine Columbus Primary Academy on Heaton Road, children attend a school day that runs from 7:35 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. The campus supports English learners and helps families arrange transportation and child care as part of school life.

We serve pre-kindergarten through grade 12 students at New Story Schools Columbus, providing autism and emotional support. Our program addresses students' educational, social and behavioral needs alongside their academic work. The Columbus school offers applied behavior analysis, behavior management and training, speech-pathology support, preschool and transition programs. We use VB-MAPP and Personalized Life Skills and Academic Needs (PLAN) in program planning. Enrollment generally starts with the home district, with Ohio scholarship routes available for some families to enroll directly.
