Rise & Shine Christian Preschool and Kindergarten is a state-licensed program on Laurel Road in Brunswick, supported by Polaris Christian Church. We enroll toddlers who turn 2 by August 1, along with preschool, Pre-K and all-day kindergarten classes, and Bible teaching runs through each program. Our classrooms are set up in interest areas: a sand and water table, dramatic play, blocks, math, reading, writing, listening, science and art. Children move between small and large groups and also have gym, music and art, with science and social studies projects through the year. Kindergarten runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with one teacher for 12 children, or two for 18, and small-group instruction in math and language arts. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, extended care is open to every student from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for $8 an hour, with a rest time on individual cots for longer days. Each summer we also run a camp for children 3 and a half through kindergarten graduates.
