St. Mary Catholic School traces its roots to 1860, when the mission pastor opened a school on School Street in Berea. Today we teach preschool through grade 8 at 265 Baker Street, beside St. Mary Catholic Church, in a building with a STREAM Discovery Hall, a reading lab, a collaboration space and an indoor playground. Early learning starts with a two-day class for three-year-olds and continues with three- and four-day preschool for four-year-olds, a half-day Pre-K at $2,300 a year and a full-day Pre-K at $4,300 that includes breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. Kindergarten through grade 8 tuition is $7,000. Families may qualify for the EdChoice, Jon Peterson Special Needs and Cleveland scholarships, and Extended Care runs 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at an hourly rate. Students in grades 4 to 8 can play in our band, and clubs include Lego Club, Chess Club, 3D Printing Club and Rembrandt Artists. Eighth graders lead monthly Faith Family groups that mix every grade, sixth graders spend two days at Camp Christopher for outdoor education, and our athletes play CYO sports. Summer brings camp plus writing and math classes.
