South River High School

South River Middle School is a grade 6 to 8 school of about 525 students in the small town of South River, between East Brunswick and Sayreville. Our size gives us a home-town feel where families know one another, and our students move on to South River High School just down Montgomery Street. We pair academics with physical and mental activities for middle schoolers. Students take part in clubs and activities, perform in chorus and band concerts, compete on South River athletics teams, and use our media center. South River Public Schools partners with Care Solace to connect families with mental health services, and Right at School offers before- and after-school care. Free and reduced-price lunch is available for eligible families.

South River Primary School is where children in the South River School District begin, with preschool, kindergarten, first grade and second grade under one roof. Our teachers use developmentally appropriate, research-based practices to build academic, social and emotional skills in these early years. Families meet with teachers at afternoon and evening parent-teacher conferences, and the Halloween parade is a school tradition. The district partners with Care Solace to connect families with mental health services, and families may apply for free and reduced-price lunch.
