Henry P. Becton Regional High School is the four-year public high school for Carlstadt, East Rutherford, and Maywood. Enrollment has grown quickly, from about 700 students in 2021-22 to about 850 in 2025-26. All students follow a core curriculum in English, mathematics, science, social studies, world languages, and physical education and health, with Honors and AP courses for acceleration. Electives span family and consumer sciences, music, visual and performing arts, and technology, and our special programs include dual enrollment, VHS Learning online courses, and internships. We are building out an engineering program with a dedicated robotics room. Our counseling office guides college, career, and military planning, and a Wellness Center and peer tutoring support students day to day. Special education services, a special education parent advisory council, and student support services serve students with IEPs, and the district is planning an in-house transition program for students ages 18 to 21. Students also produce the Cat's Eye View newspaper and perform in our Performing Arts Center.
