Destiny Christian Academy - Muncie
Destiny Christian Academy Central is a child-care ministry of Destiny Christian Center International in Muncie. It serves Delaware County families and is not a special-education school. A second academy site operates in Yorktown. Hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The program accepts children from 6 weeks to 12 years. Daytime rooms cover infants through Pre-K. Kindergarten through age 12 can use before- and after-school care and school-break care. Curriculum follows Indiana early learning standards with Christian values and weekly Bible lessons. Posted cash rates are $292 a week for infants (6 weeks to 12 months), $284 for toddlers (1-2 years), $228 for preschool (3-5 years), $151 for after-school K-5, and $196 for K-5 school-break care. Daily rates are also posted, with a two-day weekly minimum. The academy accepts CCDF and On My Way Pre-K vouchers.
Muncie Central High School
Muncie Central High School is the public high school for Muncie Community Schools at 801 North Walnut Street. It is not a special-education school. Principal Chris Walker leads the Bearcats. The school sets high academic expectations, offers family and student support, and asks students to join activities inside and outside class. Early College lets students graduate with college credit or a two-year associate degree. Graduating seniors regularly earn large scholarship awards. 2026-27 is year two of the Freshman Academy, a ninth-grade program meant to help new students start high school. Muncie Central is a general-population district high school with a long record of academics and extracurriculars. It is not a therapeutic or selective special-education campus. Families enroll through Muncie Community Schools.
The Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities
The Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities is a public high school on the Ball State University campus in Muncie. The Indiana General Assembly established it in 1988. It is not a charter school and is not a special-education campus. Indiana students may apply as sophomores, juniors, or seniors as residential or commuter students. Tuition and textbooks are free for Indiana students. Residential room and board for 2026-27 is $2,700 a year, or $1,350 a semester, and includes three meals a day. Need-based tiers can reduce that yearly fee to $1,450, $498, or $0. Dual-credit courses taught by Academy instructors are $75 to $250, or $350 online through Ball State, and those fees are waived for aid recipients. Optional laptop rental is $50 a semester. Faculty hold at least a master's degree, and nearly one-third hold doctorates. Students can take AP, dual-credit, Indiana College Core, and selected Ball State classes. More than 50 student organizations are offered. IHSAA athletics run with Burris Laboratory School.
