The Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities
The Indiana General Assembly created our school in 1988 as a public residential high school for gifted and talented Indiana students, and we sit on the Ball State University campus in Muncie. The Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities enrolls no more than 300 sophomores, juniors and seniors, who either live in our residence hall or commute from home. Our course list runs from four levels of physics and multivariable calculus to seven world languages, and most science classes add a weekly two to three hour lab. Students can earn dual credit through Ball State and Ivy Tech, take AP courses, or enroll in Ball State classes. All faculty hold at least a master's degree. A two-week May Term adds apprenticeships or travel. Indiana students pay no tuition or textbook costs.
