Best Special Needs Schools in Huntley, Illinois (2026)

Little Hands Home Daycare & Preschool has served Huntley families for more than 20 years from our home-based program on Somerset Lane. We offer a full-day, full-year preschool for children ages 3 to 5, open from 7:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Our curriculum is theme-based and follows the Illinois Early Learning Standards for Pre-K, with age-appropriate activities that build the academic skills children need for kindergarten. For literacy we use Jolly Phonics, the same program used by School District 158, to teach letter recognition, phonics and writing the alphabet. Two supplemental social-emotional programs, Second Step and Conscious Discipline, give children early practice naming feelings, negotiating with friends and calming themselves. Each child is taught individually within the group, with the goal of building confidence and a love of learning before kindergarten. Families who receive child care financial assistance through the Illinois CCAP program can use it with us.
