For more than 25 years, Cedarview Learning Center has cared for young children on US Highway 19 in Port Richey, from infants through 12-year-olds. Our weekday hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. School-age children ride our transportation between the center and Chasco Elementary or Fox Hollow Elementary, with care on either side of their school day. Summer programs for the same age group run while school is out. Infant and toddler rooms build learning activities into the daily routine and help children form secure attachments with their caregivers. Our preschool classes follow a Teaching Strategies curriculum with GOLD assessment to track each child's progress, and the day centers on play-based investigations, read-alouds from our book collection and simple job and behavior charts for children three and older. Four- and five-year-olds attend Florida's free VPK program here. Speech, developmental and behavioral health screenings and services are offered in house. The USDA Child Care Food Program covers free breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. We hold APPLE accreditation, take part in the Early Learning Coalition of Pasco and Hernando Counties, accept subsidized child care and offer sibling discounts.
