Archimedean Upper Conservatory opened in August 2008 as the high school of the Archimedean family of charter schools, founded by a committee of Greek and Greek-American residents of Miami. Students in grades 9 to 12 are admitted by lottery, with no preference for academic ability. We are a conservatory of mathematics and the Greek language. Four full years of advanced mathematics anchor the program, Greek is taught in partial immersion alongside Latin, French and Spanish options, and every year includes philosophy, with coursework in logic, ethics and political philosophy. Honors, accelerated and Advanced Placement courses fill the schedule, and electives run from fine and performing arts to robotics and computer science. Our students complete at least 32 credits, eight more than Florida requires, and many add summer dual enrollment at FIU and Miami Dade College.
