AKTIV Learning Academy is a K-12 educational institution dedicated to empowering students with learning disabilities and special needs. The academy's core mission is to help each student reach their full potential through personalized education and comprehensive support for both students and their families. With a focus on fostering independence and equipping students with essential life skills, AKTIV Learning Academy is committed to creating a nurturing environment where every child can thrive. Key offerings at AKTIV Learning Academy include individualized curricula tailored to each student's unique learning style and needs. The academy employs a variety of therapeutic methodologies, such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), sensory integration techniques, and the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS). Additionally, students benefit from specialized programs in academic skills, communication and language development, social skills training, and functional life skills. The school also provides access to scholarships, including the Family Empowerment for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA), ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder educational opportunities. Big Bear Academy PPEC is a comprehensive Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care facility providing innovative healthcare alternatives for families of children with special needs. The Miami location offers Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy along with a full spectrum of pediatric services. The center provides up to 12 hours of nursing care per day, Monday through Saturday, for children from birth to 21 years old. The multilingual and multicultural team of qualified professionals includes pediatric nurses, Behavior Analysts, Behavior Technicians, and skilled Physical, Speech, and Occupational Therapists who collaborate on-site to provide comprehensive, individualized support. All services are 100% covered by Medicaid, and the center also accepts most insurance plans and Florida Kid Care. Services include Pediatric Nursing Care, Transportation, Nutritional Food Program, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, ABA, Special Education (provided by Miami Dade County Public Schools), Physician on Call, After School Program, Extracurricular Activities, Social Services, and Music Therapy. The center partners with renowned hospitals including Nicklaus Children's Hospital, Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, Baptist Health, and Jackson Memorial Hospital. Spanish language services are available.
