Torrington Area Families for Autism

Torrington Area Families for Autism (TAFA) is a local autism nonprofit organization started by parents who know first hand what it means to raise a child living with autism. The goal of TAFA is to create a group focused on Autism Advocacy, Awareness and Inclusion. We offer support groups, group activities, and social opportunities at our TAFA Common-Unity Center. Exposure and opportunities for socialization make a world of difference to those living with autism and their families.

ABA Centers of Connecticut offers autism testing along with ABA therapy, which can help families who want evaluation and treatment through the same provider. Services are available in home and at the center for children, teens, and families across Fairfield and Hartford counties. The provider also highlights shorter wait times than many traditional programs and broad insurance acceptance.

Area Cooperative Educational Services (ACES) is dedicated to enhancing and transforming the lives of students with special needs through innovative educational and therapeutic programs. Serving a diverse population, ACES focuses on providing tailored support for children with various disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders, language-based learning disabilities, and emotional challenges. Key offerings at ACES include specialized educational programs such as the Center for Autism Spectrum and Developmental Disorders, which utilizes evidence-based practices like Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI). Additional services encompass speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, and social skills groups, all designed to foster communication, independence, and social interaction.
