The Talcott Center for Child Development

Ascend Autism's early childhood center is at 50 Stanford Drive in Farmington, and we serve Hartford County families, including those in Hartford, Bristol, New Britain, and Burlington. Our BCBAs and behavior therapists build each child's ABA plan with the family. Our full-day program runs 35 to 40 hours a week, and our half-day program runs 20 to 25 hours a week in a morning or afternoon block. We also run an after-school program on communication and social skills for school-aged children, and every program includes parent coaching.

We provide center-based ABA at our Farmington clinic in The Exchange building, across from UConn Health. The clinic has individual and group treatment rooms and an indoor motor space. Our ABA team uses structured teaching, natural-environment teaching, individualized assessment, and data-informed plans. Across our ABA services, programs support early communication, attention, play, and learning readiness; school readiness, peer interaction, self-regulation, and independence; and functional life skills, adaptive behavior, and social competence. BCBA-Ds, BCBAs, and RBTs provide treatment under clinical supervision. Families take part through parent training, progress reviews, and support for carrying skills into home and community routines. We offer private pay and work with many commercial plans. Plans we work with include Anthem, Aetna, Optum, UnitedHealthcare, ConnectiCare, Oxford, Harvard Pilgrim, and Husky. Our team checks eligibility, benefits, and documentation requirements. Our programs serve toddlers and preschoolers during the day and school-aged children and teenagers after school.

At our Farmington center at 160 Farmington Avenue, we offer autism services and our Prism Academy program. Families can request a consultation with our team.
