Our Approach

Programs are individualized and supervised by a BCBA, built from an initial assessment and reviewed as your child progresses. Sessions use naturalistic, play-based teaching wherever it fits the goal, with structured practice where a skill needs it. Parent and caregiver coaching is part of the model so progress holds up outside of session.

About the Center

Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC) - Mesa provides ABA therapy for children with autism in Mesa, Arizona. Programs are designed and supervised by a BCBA, with day to day sessions run by RBTs. Each child starts with an assessment, and goals are built around the skills that matter most day to day: communication, play and social connection, routines and self-care, and reducing the moments that make a day hard for the whole family. Therapy is delivered through structured sessions in the center and sessions in the family home. Alongside ABA, this location offers parent training. 4:1 student-to-teacher ratio. Curriculum aligned with state standards. Play-based, language-enriched environment. Parent and caregiver coaching runs alongside the child sessions, so the strategies that work in therapy carry over to home, school, and everyday outings. Accepted plans include Aetna (Commercial), Ambetter, Ameriben (BCBS Network), Anthem BCBS (All states), Arizona Care Network, and Arizona Complete Health Complete Care. New families are being enrolled now. Services are also offered in Spanish. Families come to this location from across Mesa and the wider East Valley, including the Phoenix metro communities nearby.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC) - Mesa — N Power Rd

Where does therapy take place?

Sessions are offered in the center and in your home. The right mix depends on your child's goals and your family's schedule, and it is something to talk through at intake.

What insurance is accepted?

Accepted plans include Aetna (Commercial), Ambetter, Ameriben (BCBS Network), Anthem BCBS (All states), Arizona Care Network, and Arizona Complete Health Complete Care. Coverage varies by plan, so benefits are verified before services start and you will know your expected cost up front.

What ages do you work with?

Services start in the toddler years and continue through the preschool and school-age years, and older children and teens are served as well. Earlier is generally better, but it is not too late to start if your child is already in school.

Do we need a diagnosis before we start?

Most insurance plans require an autism diagnosis and a referral for ABA before they will authorize services. If you do not have one yet, call anyway and the team can point you toward evaluation options in the area.

How do we get started?

The first step is a phone call or an inquiry through this page. From there the team checks your insurance benefits, schedules an assessment, and builds a plan with you before therapy hours begin.

Is there a waitlist?

New families are being enrolled now. Availability can change, so it is worth calling to confirm openings that fit your schedule.

What areas do you serve?

Families come from across Mesa and the wider East Valley, including the Phoenix metro communities nearby.
