Fond du Lac, WIGrades PreK-12

Trinity Baptist School teaches a Biblical worldview in every classroom, every subject, and every activity, serving students from Pre-K through 12th grade in Fond du Lac. We share our East Johnson Street home with Trinity Baptist Church, and our pastors also teach in our junior and senior high, while our elementary students learn in combined kindergarten to 2nd grade and 3rd to 5th grade classrooms. Our college preparatory high school requires 24 credits, including four each in writing and literature, social studies, algebra and geometry, and science, plus choir, speech, computer, and physical education. Every student from kindergarten through 12th grade takes the Iowa Assessments each April so we can chart achievement year to year. Admission includes an application, interviews with parents and students, and a readiness test for the student's grade level, and families sign our doctrinal statement and tuition contract. Children should be 5 by September 1 to enter kindergarten. Beyond class, students play soccer and take part in fine arts, community service, and a monthly Bible memory passage.

Comparing school options in Fond Du Lac

The Fond du Lac School District holds free community child development screenings for young children, using play-based assessments and parent interviews to spot possible delays, with vision and hearing checks available. Sessions are held during the school year; call to ask about the next date. Families book by age: 920-929-7105 for birth to 2 1/2 years, or 920-906-6525 for ages 2 1/2 to 4 1/2.

A screening can flag a concern, but it does not decide special education eligibility. In Wisconsin, a parent who believes a child has a disability can make a written referral to the school district explaining why, and the district then appoints an IEP team to determine eligibility and need for special education. Children under three who need ongoing support are served by Wisconsin's Birth to 3 Program through local county programs. The Fond du Lac School District office at 72 West Ninth Street can be reached at 920-929-2900.

Frequently Asked Questions About Special Needs Schools in Fond Du Lac

Which number should I call for a Fond du Lac developmental screening?
It depends on your child's age. For children from birth to 2 1/2 years, the district lists 920-929-7105. For children ages 2 1/2 to 4 1/2, call 920-906-6525. The screenings are free and open to the community, and families schedule ahead. Ask about the next date if you missed the October session.
What happens at a Fond du Lac child development screening?
Trained staff use play-based assessments and talk with parents to look for possible developmental delays or concerns, and vision and hearing screening is offered too. A screening is a quick check, not a full evaluation. If staff or you see a concern, the next step is a written referral for a special education evaluation. Our early intervention guide covers the under-three path.
How do I ask the Fond du Lac School District for a special education evaluation?
Write a referral explaining why you believe your child has a disability, date it, and give it to your child's school or the district office. Wisconsin requires referrals to be in writing. The district then appoints an IEP team to decide whether your child has a disability and needs special education. Our evaluation request guide shows what to include.
Does the district evaluate children who attend private schools in Fond du Lac?
Yes. Under Wisconsin's Child Find rules, each district locates, identifies, and evaluates children with disabilities enrolled by their parents in private schools, including religious schools, located within the district. Send the written referral to the Fond du Lac School District and ask which services are available to students placed in private schools by their parents.
