Lincoln High School - Port Angeles

Clallam Mosaic is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering people of all abilities to flourish. Born in 1998 from a group of concerned parents, we have grown into a vibrant, inclusive community that serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and special health care needs, along with their families and caregivers. Our mission is centered on honoring individualism, promoting advocacy, and nurturing personal potential through a wide array of year-round programs and lifelong learning opportunities. We offer non-vocational day programming in both Port Angeles and Sequim, providing sessions that run from 11 am to 3 pm. These programs feature a diverse curriculum including Sign Language, Music & Movement, Theater Arts, and Creative Art, as well as a Film Club and STEM activities. Our approach is participant-centered and non-vocational, focusing on the needs and experiences of our members to foster social skills, creative expression, and community-wide engagement. In addition to our day programs, Clallam Mosaic provides one-on-one Community Engagement services for individuals on Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) waivers. These services assist participants in achieving their personal community goals, such as taking classes, exploring local parks, or learning to navigate public transportation. We also host the Parent to Parent programs for Clallam and Jefferson Counties, offering emotional support, resource referrals, and peer mentoring for families navigating the challenges of raising children with special needs. Located in downtown Port Angeles, our All In Arts Studio serves as a working studio and marketplace, providing exhibition and selling opportunities for program artists. Our staffing includes a dedicated leadership team, activity leads, and Community Engagement Coaches, all committed to creating an inclusive environment where every individual has the opportunity to shine. We partner with local organizations like the United Way, the Port Angeles Food Bank, and various community foundations to ensure our participants have access to a broad network of support.

Franklin Elementary School sits on a hill in Port Angeles with views across the Strait of Juan de Fuca to Victoria, British Columbia, and the Olympic Mountains as a backdrop for play. As a Port Angeles School District neighborhood school, we teach children from kindergarten up to 6th grade. Our staff of about 53 includes grade-level classroom teachers, music and PE teachers, a special education teacher, an RTI intervention teacher, a counselor, a behavior specialist, a speech specialist, an occupational therapist and a team of paraeducators. Families can refer students to the district Highly Capable program each fall, and four-year-olds with an assessed need can join the district's free Transition to Kindergarten program. Every student eats breakfast and lunch at no charge through the district's Community Eligibility Provision, and district bus routes serve our attendance area. Our PTO funds enrichment programs and assemblies for the whole school and meets monthly in the Franklin Library. A new Franklin building, designed for up to 525 students and funded by the 2024 bond, is planned to break ground in spring 2027 and open in fall 2028, while classes continue in the current building.

North Madrona Children's Academy is a private early childhood center providing all-day preschool programs for children ages 2-5 in Port Angeles, Washington. The academy employs an Emergent Curriculum approach that integrates visual arts, music, theater arts, storytelling, dance, and movement to foster cognitive, social, emotional, and multi-sensory development. Teachers actively observe and engage with students throughout their day, using these insights to create meaningful learning opportunities tailored to each child's interests and strengths. The academy emphasizes collaborative decision-making among teachers, parents, and children, and uses Love & Logic principles to guide student behavior and decision-making. With low student-teacher ratios and strong family partnerships, the academy provides personalized attention and promotes healthy decision-making skills in a nurturing environment.
