Les Lilas combines the French national curriculum, the Washington State curriculum, and Montessori pedagogy in one independent bilingual school in Kirkland. We welcome children ages 3 to 11, from preschool through 5th grade, in multi-age classrooms. La Maternelle serves ages 3 to 6 and covers preschool, pre-K, and kindergarten with small class sizes. L'Elementaire serves 1st through 3rd grade, where students work independently with self-correcting Montessori materials, and La Grande Elementaire serves 4th and 5th grade, with mastery of French as a central goal. Seasonal field trips, fall Decouvertes enrichment such as chess, ballet, and fencing, a summer camp, and a middle school French program extend the year. Since July 2023, the French Ministry of Education and AEFE have accredited our program from Maternelle through CE2, and we have held Mission laique francaise accreditation since 2020. We are a member of AFSA, NAIS, and WFIS, are licensed by Washington's DCYF, approved by the State Board of Education, and hold the AEFE EFE3D Level 2 sustainability label.
