Community Homeschool Co-op (CHC) is a Christian faith-based hybrid homeschool cooperative located in Edmonds, WA, catering to students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The co-op supports independent homeschooling families by offering a unique blend of structure and flexibility. CHC's mission is to provide a nurturing environment where students can thrive academically and spiritually, with an emphasis on Christian discipleship interwoven throughout their programs. The co-op operates on a model that requires active parent involvement, fostering a collaborative community where parents work together to educate their children. Classes are available full-time, part-time, or just on Fridays, with core classes taught two days a week and enrichment electives offered each Friday. A standout feature is the ROOTED dual credit program in partnership with Colorado Christian University, enabling high school students to earn affordable college credits while deepening their faith. CHC's approach emphasizes teaching students how to learn, supporting the homeschooling parent's role as the primary educator. This cooperative model offers workshops and unit studies on specific days and provides opportunities for parents to engage deeply in their children's education through various roles within the co-op. With passionate instructors and a commitment to building a supportive community, CHC offers an enriching educational experience that combines the benefits of homeschooling with collaborative learning opportunities.

Madrona K-8 serves about 600 students in kindergarten through 8th grade in Edmonds, in a building that opened in January 2019. Our campus has five classroom buildings plus a sixth that holds the gym, cafeteria, library, and spaces for our music and science programs. Madrona is a site for the Edmonds School District's regional Deaf and Hard of Hearing program, which serves students who use sign language from 18 school districts north, east, and west of Seattle. Teachers of the Deaf work with trained para-educators to provide American Sign Language, English, and technology literacy, alongside a speech-language pathologist, counselor, psychologist, and hearing therapists. Students learn in self-contained, team-taught, and blended classes, and in general education classes with interpreters. Middle schoolers can join four non-cut sports, cross country, volleyball, basketball, and track and field, plus ASB, Model UN, and experiential projects such as an immigration journal. After school, students take ASL classes, Snapology robotics and LEGO, Art Wise, and cheer, and Madrona Children's Theatre stages productions through our parent group.

Parents are in the classroom every week at Maplewood Parent Cooperative, a K-8 choice school in the Edmonds School District serving families from Brier, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace and Woodway. Each family commits to volunteering one half day per child per week, joining at least one committee, driving for two field trips a year and attending the monthly parent meeting. Because interest exceeds our space, enrollment is by lottery, with the kindergarten drawing held each February. Our middle school is small, with roughly 107 to 113 students in grades 7 and 8. Each teacher also leads an elective, and past offerings have included art, band, orchestra, cinematography, computer science, STEM, leadership and yearbook. On Friday mornings, parent-led enrichment classes add options such as cooking, German, Japanese, hiking, yoga and LEGO League. Students compete in cross country, volleyball, basketball, and track and field, and the middle school stages a musical each year. Our building opened in 2002 and has a school library, and a student intervention coordinator is on staff. Families support the cooperative program through a pledge, with a suggested $20 per student per month.
