About The Aurora School
Parents and The Arc of Loudoun founded Aurora School together in 2003, and we remain a private, year-round day school in Leesburg for students ages 5 to 22, kindergarten through 12th grade, with intellectual and developmental disabilities and a focus on autism.
Teaching here comes from applied behavior analysis, with an emphasis on Skinner's analysis of verbal behavior to build communication. We staff at a 1:1+ ratio, and every student is supported by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and a licensed teacher throughout the school day. Early, intermediate and advanced learners follow either an academic or an independent living curriculum, and verbal behavior, social skills, self-management, problem solving, math and reading are taught systematically with continuous data. Therapists deliver speech-language, occupational, physical and music therapy inside the classroom.
Nearly all placements come through a student's public school division: the family asks its local education agency for an out-of-district referral, and we follow with a file review, observation, tour and classroom fit review. We hold a license to operate from the Virginia Board of Education.

Fusion Academy Loudoun
Our Loudoun campus in Leesburg serves grades 4 through 12 through one-to-one instruction, small-group options and self-directed digital learning. Students can meet their one-to-one teacher in person or virtually, and virtual small groups have two to five students. At Fusion Academy Loudoun, full-time students use the Homework Café and take part in clubs and campus activities. Part-time classes for credit, tutoring and mentoring, and college or postsecondary counseling are available. We send families instructor progress reports each school day. The campus is at 19300 Promenade Drive, Suite 200, and is accredited by Cognia and the Middle States Association.
Phillips School Building Futures – Loudoun
At our Loudoun campus, we serve students ages 12–21 whose needs have not been met in traditional school settings. Small, self-contained classrooms provide differentiated instruction guided by each student’s IEP. We address academic, behavioral, emotional and social needs in collaboration with families. Our program includes counseling, family support and instruction in self-management, relationships and decision-making. Pre-vocational activities, on-campus work and community work experiences help students prepare for life beyond school.

PosAbilities Academy is dedicated to serving students with documented intellectual or developmental disabilities, focusing on those who aspire to develop vocational skills and achieve greater independence.
