Parents and The Arc of Loudoun founded Aurora School together in 2003, and we remain a private, year-round day school in Leesburg for students ages 5 to 22, kindergarten through 12th grade, with intellectual and developmental disabilities and a focus on autism. Teaching here comes from applied behavior analysis, with an emphasis on Skinner's analysis of verbal behavior to build communication. We staff at a 1:1+ ratio, and every student is supported by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and a licensed teacher throughout the school day.
