About Rowland Hall Middle School

Grades 6 through 8 at Rowland Hall are taught at 970 East 800 South, part of the school's Lincoln Street Campus in Salt Lake City. Two staff carry learning support for the division: learning specialist Jenn Anderson and learning support teacher Mindy Leo. They run small-group sessions and one-on-one check-ins during community time, coach students and families on the structures and routines behind executive functioning, and help parents navigate the educational evaluation process. Seventh and eighth graders can take a directed study class aimed at skill building, and the division keeps a dedicated learning support room that any student may use to work on assignments or talk with a trusted adult.

Access is not restricted to students with a diagnosis. Rowland Hall issues support plans in place of IEPs and 504 plans: once a family provides an outside evaluation, the teacher, learning specialist, family, and evaluator debrief together, and the specialist writes a plan covering strengths, needs, classroom strategies, and accommodations that every teacher working with the student follows.

Middle School tuition for 2026-2027 is $37,200 in grade 6, $37,600 in grade 7, and $38,450 in grade 8, bundled to include technology and class trip fees. Need-based assistance and scholarships reach about a quarter of the student body. One change is imminent for this division: on December 2, 2026, grades 6 through 12 move to the new Richard R. Steiner Campus beside the McCarthey Campus, ending more than 40 years of separate locations. Prospective families inquire, visit, and then apply through the admission office.
