Redka Behavior Services

River Rock Academy was founded in 2005 as an alternative education school, and our Williamsport campus on Sheridan Street is one of several River Rock campuses serving students from central, south central and eastern Pennsylvania. We are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education as an approved private academic school and provider. Our programs include an elementary program for regular and special education students in grades K to 6 who need added behavioral support, a secondary special education program for grades 7 to 12, and Alternative Education for Disruptive Youth for grades 6 to 12. Special education students in our licensed programs have an emotional disturbance or learning disability classification. Each student is assigned a primary counselor and builds SMART goals within the first 30 days. Every student takes a social skills class with group counseling, and online programs support credit recovery and preparation for the PSSA and GED. Eligible students join co-op and community work experiences, and transition plans prepare each student to return to a public school. Families attend treatment meetings and can serve on a parent advisory board that meets twice a year.

At its Penn Street Junior/Senior High School campus, Saint John Neumann Regional Academy serves older students in Williamsport as part of a prekindergarten through grade 12 Catholic school system. Classes run from 7:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
