About Sunset School

Sunset School welcomes the Coos Bay School District's third through sixth graders to one of its two campuses for this age group. Students learn in self-contained classrooms, so the same classroom community anchors much of each day even as children move toward middle school. Sunset's Dolphins practice learning together in an environment built around safety and respect.

The school organizes information and activities by grade. Its current calendar includes swimming lessons at Mingus Park Pool for grades 3–6 and a sixth-grade dance. A new third grader joins what the campus calls the Dolphin Pod, where staff invite families to communicate and take part in school life. Sunset emphasizes collaboration among students, educators, parents, and the wider community as children grow through these four grades.

The campus is at 245 S Cammann Street in Coos Bay, Oregon. Families can contact the school for enrollment, grade-level, or school activity questions.
