About Orchard Middle School

Orchard Middle School is the Solon City Schools building for grades 5 and 6, the bridge between our district's three elementary schools and Solon Middle School. Orchard is a National Blue Ribbon School.

Our teachers use research-based instructional practices, and we see the partnership between home and school as the most important relationship in a child's education. Before classes, students join morning intramurals such as Pin Ball and Mountain Movers, and our media center supports research and digital citizenship lessons through Be Internet Awesome.

Families connect with our PTA, the Music Parents group, and a district Parent Mentor.

Developmental delays Inclusion classrooms Peer model program

Regano Early Learning Center is Solon City Schools' integrated preschool for Solon children ages 3 to 5, with and without disabilities, and holds a Five Star Step Up to Quality rating. Children without disabilities join as peer models, paying $1,200 for the school year, and learn alongside classmates who receive special education services. We offer two special education settings. Our Intensive Resource Classroom serves up to 8 students without peer models, and our half-day Integrated Program combines up to 6 special education students with 7 peer models. We also provide itinerant services for children attending community daycares and preschools. Transportation is provided for special education students, and placement in the least restrictive environment is decided together with parents. Classes meet Monday through Thursday in 2.5-hour morning or afternoon sessions, each with a classroom aide. We teach with the Frog Street preschool curriculum, aligned with Ohio's Early Learning and Development Standards. We track progress with the Early Learning Assessment twice a year.
