Lake Forest Academy

We offer half-day preschool classes from 9 a.m. to noon, with two- or three-day schedules for children ages two and three and a five-day Pre-K program for four-year-olds. Our curriculum is linked to North Carolina preschool standards and kindergarten expectations. Teachers assess and monitor skills, and use developmentally appropriate activities across cognitive, social, emotional, and physical learning. A certified facility dog also joins classroom activities.

At Southeastern Autism Academy in Wilmington, we provide a year-round private day school with small-group instruction. Our program at OASIS NC focuses on social-emotional communication, relationships and life skills for autistic students. We use North Carolina State Standards as a guide and adapt lessons and materials to each student's skills and learning style. Our Burnt Mill Village site on Randall Parkway has quiet indoor areas for individual learning and larger spaces for movement and recreation. School activities include academics, games, field trips and events such as our annual film festival. Our relationship-based approach begins with a student's interests, with instruction that includes communication, problem-solving and social participation.
