About Franklin Early Childhood Center
Franklin Early Childhood Center opened its doors in 1983, and our district's early childhood programs date back to 1966. Today we serve about 345 children in Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and First Grade on a four-acre campus in central Hewlett.
We run one of the area's few district-supported, open-enrollment, full-day Pre-K programs, and full-day kindergarten has been part of our school since 1978. First graders joined the Early Childhood program in 1996. Every classroom has computers, and our building includes two full-sized gymnasiums, an expanded library with performance space, an indoor Playscape and a tree-shaded outdoor playground.
Our student support team includes a school nurse, a social worker and two school psychologists, and before and after school care is available for all students from Pre-K through First Grade.
