Port Colden School

Port Colden School serves first, second, and third graders in Washington Township, New Jersey. It is one of the district's two elementary schools; Brass Castle School serves preschool, kindergarten, and grades 4–6. At Port Colden, classroom teachers work alongside special education and basic-skills teachers, child-study-team staff, a nurse, and the principal.

The district's curriculum emphasizes reading quality literature, developing writing skills, and using mathematics to solve problems. Teachers also integrate technology into classroom learning. Port Colden's focused grade span gives children a school community built around the early elementary years, with staff roles that can support different learning needs.
