Scotch Plains Montessori
Scotch Plains Montessori cares for children from 4 months to six years old, with flexible full-day and part-time schedules. Our rooms move with the child: an infant program built around sensory and motor skills, a toddler room with free play, group music and language time and outdoor experiences, a 3-year-old program, a Prep Pre-K 4 class that introduces language, writing, reading and math, and a kindergarten that prepares children for the move into the school system. We follow the Montessori approach of learning by doing, through play, exploration and all five senses. Movement and physical activity are built into lessons, and we serve a balanced breakfast, snack and lunch each day. Our teachers are trained in early childhood and elementary education, and we keep regular communication open with parents. Our school is on East 2nd Street in Scotch Plains, and families come to us from Fanwood, Westfield and nearby Union County towns.
