About West End Elementary School

West End Elementary, home of the Wildcats, serves young students in the suburban community of North Plainfield. Our school has been recognized as a State and National School of Character, and we hold a Bronze award through NJ Sustainable Schools.

Our district's K to 4 Dual Language Immersion Program is an NJDOE-designated Model Program for 2025 to 2028, and West End families have access to Spanish dual language resources at home. Character education runs through the school day and is built on four core values: Caring, Appreciation, Respect, and Determination.

Students publish their own newspaper, The Wildcat, and our PTA organizes family fun nights, a trunk-or-treat, a Halloween parade, and fundraisers. We take part in the district's free 21st Century After School Program, which offers homework help, enrichment, and recreation, and we observe the statewide Week of Respect each October with a focus on kindness and preventing bullying.
