LifeChangers Academy is a family-operated, faith-based early learning center at 3025 Kansas Drive in Bellevue. St. Mary's Catholic School opened on Mission Avenue in Historic Olde Towne Bellevue in August 1948, when three Dominican Sisters from Louisville, Kentucky, welcomed 96 students. Today we teach Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade as a school of the Archdiocese of Omaha, near Offutt Air Force Base, and we make a point of welcoming military-connected families and students of all faiths. Students attend weekly Mass, and older and younger grades pair up through our Buddy System. All of our K-8 teachers hold Nebraska certification and average 20 years of experience. Beyond core subjects, students take Spanish, music, art, technology, library and physical education, with collaboration and STEM labs and Chromebooks and iPads available for every student. Special education, including resource and speech-language support, comes through our public school partnership, and we have a certified school counselor, a licensed mental health therapist and a High Ability Learners program. Clubs and teams include band, volleyball, basketball, Quiz Bowl, Book Bowl, a Strategy Game Club and Budding Botanists.
