Benedicite Education
Benedicite Education began in 2014 with a group of parents who wanted something different for their children, and has spent the decade since advocating in the Wentzville community for natural, self-directed learning that supports the whole individual. The program runs on a hybrid model combining class work, independent study, off-campus experiences and life skills, in multi-age classes that use social and emotional learning as their foundation. Success is measured in individual progress rather than standardized tests, and the curriculum follows the children: concepts are presented rather than dogma enforced, and learners of all ages are asked to question everything. The focus is on how to learn and adapt, so students can contribute as citizens of the world, stewards of the earth and leaders in their own lives.
Boone Trail Elementary School
Boone Trail Elementary, home of the Wolf Pups, opened in 1989 and today serves about 375 students in kindergarten through 5th grade in the Wentzville School District. Students track reading and math growth with i-Ready, and our counselors and library each keep resources for families. Students in grades 3 to 5 can join the Boone Trail Singers, Chimes Club, Computer Club or Girls on the Run, and 4th and 5th graders meet on Tuesday mornings for Wolf Pup Tales. Before and after school care comes through the district's Chautauqua program, and an active PTA supports school events. Through the district, families also have access to the Horizons gifted program, English language learner services, special education and bus transportation.
