About Stottlemyer Early Childhood Center
Children ages three to five with developmental delays can join our Early Childhood Program, where classroom instruction, ongoing assessment and an individualized education plan guide their learning. Stottlemyer Early Childhood Center also offers an SXI preschool program for qualifying children with severe multiple impairments. In that program, we use accommodations, modifications and assistive technology to address children's educational needs.
Our specialist team brings together nurses, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists and a psychologist. We combine specialized programming with opportunities for children to participate alongside peers in general education preschool. Play, exploration and relationships remain part of that preschool experience as children develop confidence and independence.
Our work with families extends from birth through age five. Tuition-free programs serve families who qualify; families who do not meet the state and federal income thresholds can choose tuition-based preschool. Before- and after-school care provides another option around working schedules.
Parents can help shape the program through our parent policy committee, volunteer in classrooms and join school events. Through Wayne-Westland Community Schools' Child Find process, we connect eligible children with evaluations and services.

Lutheran Westland
Lutheran Westland opened on Cowan Road in 1986 as one of three high schools run by the Lutheran High School Association of Greater Detroit, an association of about seventy congregations formed in 1944. We are affiliated with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, but students do not need to be Lutheran to attend. Our college prep curriculum includes Advanced Placement, virtual and dual-enrollment courses and a National Honor Society chapter, and we are accredited by National Lutheran School Accreditation and the Michigan Association of Non-Public Schools. Students gather each week for chapel, devotion and a leadership seminar, and the whole school takes part in an annual service day. Arts options include two to three drama productions a year, concert and pep band, concert choir, honors choir and chamber singers. Industrial arts classes teach woodworking, metalwork, screen printing, drafting and auto maintenance. Our Warriors compete in the Michigan Independent Athletic Conference, with a lighted stadium, a full-size track, two indoor courts and three athletic fields. Tuition for 2027-2028 is $9,250 with no book, athletic or device fees, and need-based financial aid and LCMS congregational support are available.
