Charles Hackley Middle School serves grades 6 to 8 for Muskegon Public Schools on East Laketon Avenue. Our 6th graders take a daily Enrichment Hour that builds math and reading skills through i-Ready, along with a Seminar class built on CharacterStrong lessons, current events and career exploration in Xello. Students who test ahead move into honors courses, including Algebra I for high school credit, and students who are behind get a Reading and Math Strategies class. Educators and parents spent more than five years planning Three Oaks Public School Academy before we opened in 2003 with 90 students. Today more than 350 children attend our tuition-free PreK through sixth grade charter school in Muskegon, which is managed by Choice Schools Associates and authorized by Bay Mills Community College. Our core curriculum uses Expeditionary Learning (EL) for literacy, Eureka Math, Mystery Science and Fountas and Pinnell intervention.
