Spanish, Mandarin and English are part of every day at SELA, from our infant rooms through 6th grade. Founded in 2004, we serve English-speaking children aged 3 months to about 11 years on two campuses on Boston's South Shore, in Hingham and Norwell, with the goal of full Spanish fluency and real Mandarin proficiency by graduation. Our Early Global Education program covers infants, toddlers, preschool and Pre-K. The Elementary School in Hingham has two parts: a Lower School for JuniorK to 2nd grade, where English enters as a formal subject alongside Spanish, and an Upper School for 3rd to 6th grade. Credentialed specialty teachers lead each subject, math follows the Singapore Math framework, and older students learn coding in Scratch and write in cursive, print and Chinese characters. Soccer and tennis coaching runs through the grades. Families can add extended care from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., choose academic-year or full-year calendars for younger children, and pay tuition in monthly installments through TADS. We also run summer, vacation-week and afterschool programs.
