Since 1912, Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School has started thousands of students on their careers. Today about 1,470 students in grades 9 to 12 from Fall River, Somerset, Swansea and Westport attend, taught by 156 teachers. Ninth graders rotate through our Exploratory Program before choosing one of 18 vocational-technical programs, from automotive technology, carpentry and culinary arts to dental assisting, electronics engineering, plumbing, welding, and programming and web development. Five academic departments offer electives, honors and Advanced Placement courses, and upperclassmen can work through our co-op program. Students compete in SkillsUSA, and our Homebuilding Project puts carpentry skills to work. Students with IEPs receive a range of services, and those who need a more concentrated curriculum can join our co-teaching and supportive instruction programs, which provide modified daily instruction in both academics and shop. A HealthFirst partnership brings healthcare onto campus. We are accredited by NEASC and also run a School of Practical Nursing, adult education and night school.
