Little Learners Lodge, LLC

Listed
Attleboro, MAAges 2-5

Little Learners Lodge is a play-based preschool on Rice Street in Attleboro, just off Route 95, for children ages 2.9 to 5. Our owner and director spent more than 30 years teaching preschool and working in childcare before opening the school she had long hoped to run, built around the idea that young children learn best through play. Our doors are open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays. Preschoolers investigate with their senses, roleplay, create freely and learn to name their feelings, while our Pre-K group practices the habits of a kindergarten classroom: listening, taking turns, cleaning up and building gross-motor skills. Letters, numbers, shapes, colors and the calendar come up naturally through the day. On top of the core curriculum, children take enrichment in music, Spanish, social studies and motor skills. Our classes also take part in community service projects that teach kindness.

Comparing school options in Attleboro

Attleboro Public Schools publishes a special education program guide that maps 13 in-district programs across its schools, from preschool at the Early Learning Center to a 12+ program for students ages 18 to 21 at Attleboro High School. The guide is a reference, not a placement menu: the district states that placements are determined by each student's individual Team.

For preschoolers, the Integrated program at the Early Learning Center at Thacher Elementary serves children from age 3 until kindergarten in classrooms of up to 15 students: 8 community peers and 7 children with IEPs, who attend three, four, or five days a week as their Teams decide. Older students may be served in programs such as Insights, a highly structured program that uses applied behavior analysis principles, or LEAP, a language-based program for grades 2 to 8. The Network, a public day program for grades 8 to 12, operates on the high school campus.
