Westfield High School
Westfield High School is a four-year public high school of about 2,950 students in grades 9 to 12, serving the fast-growing Westfield community in southwestern Hamilton County, 20 miles north of downtown Indianapolis. More than 170 classroom teachers work alongside 8 counselors, a school social worker and 7 administrators, and over half our teachers have 10 or more years of experience. We run on trimesters, so students can earn up to fifteen credits a year in 67-minute classes. A daily CORE period gives time for remediation, enrichment and our Life Ready focus on academics, career and wellness. Students choose from 33 AP courses and 23 dual-credit courses through Indiana University's ACP program and Ivy Tech, and every student receives a school device. Driver education, global engagement opportunities, applied programs and English learner support round out the course catalog. Outside class, the Rocks have band, choir, theatre, speech and debate, and more than 100 clubs, from FFA, DECA and Mock Trial to robotics, Best Buddies and a rugby club. Our Learning Center houses the library and the Idea Farm, and a full athletics program competes throughout the year.
Westfield Intermediate School
Westfield Intermediate School serves fifth and sixth graders in Westfield Washington Schools, on Shamrock Boulevard. Each grade has its own team of school counselors, and our district builds on the character traits of compassion, hard work, honesty, respect and responsibility. Families have access to before and after school care and summer camps. Students with disabilities are served under IDEA and Indiana's Article 7, with priority on general education classrooms through push-in support and resource services, plus separate classrooms and the MOSAICS program for more intensive needs. District specialists provide occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech-language therapy, assistive technology, a teacher for students who are blind or have low vision, and an itinerant teacher for deaf and hard of hearing students. Section 504 plans and a tiered MTSS and RTI intervention model are also in place.
