About Floyd County Head Start
Floyd County Head Start Birth to Five is a Head Start program operated by Floyd County Community Action Agency in New Albany. It is funded through an Office of Head Start grant and is not a private special-needs school.
Early Head Start is for children from birth through 35 months who are under age 3 by August 1 of the enrollment year. The center-based Early Head Start program meets Monday through Thursday for 8 hours a day and focuses on school readiness, wellness, and social and emotional development.
The Head Start center-based program meets Monday through Thursday for 7 hours a day. Days include basic academic concepts, social-emotional work, and problem-solving activities. Eligibility follows Head Start rules. The program is affiliated with the Indiana and National Head Start associations.
