Discovery Middle School is a Penn-Harris-Madison public middle school at 10050 Brummitt Road in Granger. It serves grades 6-8 and is not a special-education school. Principal Elizabeth W. Cunha leads the Archers, with assistant principals Troy Kauffman and Kevin McMillen. Feeder elementary schools are Mary Frank, Horizon, and Northpoint. The building opened for 1996-97. Discovery has been a National Blue Ribbon School in 2006 and 2013, an Indiana Blue Ribbon School in 2001-02 and 2005-06, and a Four Star School. U.S. News ranks it No. 3 among Indiana public middle schools using 2021-22 through 2023-24 data. Students have 1:1 Chromebooks. The AIM High code is Attitude, Integrity, and Make a Difference. More than 23 languages are spoken on campus. Activities include academic competitions, after-school clubs, athletics, National Junior Honor Society, student ambassadors, and performing arts. The band earned an ISSMA All-Music Award for 2025-26. Discovery is a general-population district middle school, not a private or therapeutic campus.
