Lincoln Early Childhood Center
Lincoln Early Childhood Center in Pocatello houses two preschool programs of Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25, both serving children ages 3 to 5. Our Lincoln Early Intervention Program provides early childhood special education through individualized instruction and play-based learning. Special education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and occupational and physical therapists work side by side with support staff in our classrooms. The building is also home to PCSD25 Head Start, one of the first Head Start programs in the country, serving limited-income families since 1965. Head Start offers part-day and full-day classes for 3 to 5 year olds, and families who meet federal income guidelines can pre-apply in English or Spanish. Along with early learning, the program brings health and family services, with a family advocate, a family engagement specialist and a psychologist on the team. We also run an offsite Head Start classroom on Tyhee Road in Chubbuck, and bus service is available for our families.
