About Roberts Academy at Mercer University
Roberts Academy at Mercer University is a transitional school for children with dyslexia in grades 2 to 7, and every student who enrolls has a dyslexia diagnosis. We teach every subject with the Orton-Gillingham Approach, so lessons are explicit, structured and multisensory. Classes never exceed 10 students, and teachers take diagnostic notes after each lesson to plan the next one.
Our curriculum follows the Georgia Standards for Excellence, so students keep pace in math, science, social studies, computer science, fine arts and health while they build reading, writing and spelling skills. Speech and occupational therapy are offered on site. Our building on Linden Avenue sits about two blocks from Mercer's campus, and enrichment in library, art, music, PE and STEM extends into university concert halls, labs and fields, where Mercer students teach coding, engineering and chess. Students stay until they are ready for a traditional classroom.
Tuition for 2026-27 is $12,000 plus a $300 technology and activities fee, and many families qualify for the Georgia Special Needs Scholarship (SB10) or Georgia GOAL. Our Literacy Quest summer camp serves struggling readers. We are accredited by Cognia and GISA.
