Best Special Needs Schools in Estero, Florida (2026)

Educational Pathways Academy grew out of a tutoring practice for students who struggled to read, write and spell despite strong ability. The school opened in Naples in August 2017 with 26 students. In 2022 we opened this North Campus in Estero, a two-story building with classrooms and outdoor space serving grades 3 to 12, and our Doris Frey Campus in Naples serves grades 1 to 8. We are a private Christian school for students with dyslexia, ADHD, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, dyspraxia, and auditory or visual processing disorders. Most of our students have average to above-average intelligence. Teachers use Orton-Gillingham structured literacy, multisensory lessons and assistive technology in small classes and small groups. North Campus has an Orton-Gillingham classroom, a literacy computer lab and an electives classroom, and students take art and culinary arts. We are accredited by the Florida Council of Independent Schools. Families can use Florida's FES-UA, FES-EO and Tax Credit scholarships, we offer need-based aid and extended care, and we are not a therapeutic school, so students whose primary diagnosis is autism or a behavioral condition are better served elsewhere.
