Montessori Achievement Centre opened on September 4, 1984 with twelve students and two teachers, founded and directed by Patricia J. Wheeler. Today our six teachers work with about forty-two children ages 2 to 6 in Spring Valley, serving families across East County. In 2004 we earned full accreditation from the Montessori School Accreditation Commission (MSAC/AMS), the second Montessori school in the county to do so. Certified Montessori educators lead a traditional program in mixed-age classrooms: practical life, sensorial work, and early math and language taught with hands-on materials rather than worksheets.
