SLO Field of Dreams Preschool runs out of our family home in San Luis Obispo, a state-licensed home-based program for children from 18 months to 5 years old. The preschool is led by a credentialed teacher who spent about a decade teaching reading intervention in San Luis Obispo, and early literacy, math and science show up every day alongside songs, stories and play. Mornings run 9:00 to 1:00 with indoor play, an opening circle with calendar and story time, a simple craft, outdoor play, book time and a closing literacy circle. Outside, children have a sandbox, a tricycle path, a playhouse, a trampoline, vegetable planters and a batting cage with a preschool basketball hoop. We serve a mid-morning snack and a balanced lunch, and children do not need to be potty trained. Families choose five days for $800 a month, Monday/Wednesday/Friday for $525 or Tuesday/Thursday for $385. Morning care from 7:30 and afternoon extended care until 5:00, with nap or quiet time, are available for an added fee, and siblings receive a discount.
